Presidente Abinader reafirma su compromiso con el fortalecimiento de la Unidad Antifraude para elevar la transparencia y el control de los recursos del Estado
Santo Domingo.–President Luis Abinader reaffirmed this Friday his commitment to strengthening the Anti-Fraud Unit of the Comptroller General of the Republic, as part of the actions aimed at raising the levels of transparency, prevention of irregularities and controlling the use of State resources.
During a visit to the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR), President Luis Abinader learned about the institutional strengthening of the Anti-Fraud Unit, whose new organizational structure expands the capabilities of the State to prevent, detect and investigate possible irregularities in the administration of public resources.
During the tour of the Anti-Fraud Unit facilities, located at the institution's headquarters, the president received a presentation on the evolution of this agency and the main results achieved since its creation, as well as on the new specialized capabilities in information analysis, risk management, monitoring, investigation and inter-institutional coordination, aimed at strengthening prevention actions and response to possible irregularities.
When presenting the new organization of the Anti-Fraud Unit, the Comptroller General of the Republic, Geraldo Espinosa, highlighted that the Anti-Fraud Unit strengthens the operational capacity of that agency and will allow it to act with greater flexibility, efficiency and coordination in the investigation processes.
He explained that it has made important progress since its creation and attributed these results to the support of President Luis Abinader, whose vision of strengthening the fight against corruption, promoting transparency and guaranteeing the proper use of public resources has been decisive in consolidating that organization.
Likewise, he highlighted that the Anti-Fraud Unit has a multidisciplinary team made up of investigation specialists, lawyers, accountants and other professionals, a composition that has allowed the development of investigations with greater technical rigor and strengthening the institutional capacity to confront cases of alleged irregularities.
The official pointed out that the approval of the organizational structure marks a new stage for the Unit, by consolidating a process that began in 2021, when its organization began. He indicated that the growth of this agency has been possible thanks to the perseverance of the work team and the support of the authorities.
Likewise, he stated that the Anti-Fraud Unit has achieved recognition both nationally and internationally and has strengthened its credibility in the courts, by developing investigations based on technical criteria and in accordance with the current legal framework.
During the presentation, the authorities explained that the reorganization of the Unit responds to the need to consolidate a more specialized model of action, with greater technical and operational capabilities for the early identification of risks, the analysis of complaints, administrative investigations, the use of data intelligence and coordination with the competent institutions for the protection of public assets.
Likewise, the main results of the Anti-Fraud Unit were presented, including the complaints processed, the investigations carried out, the reports sent to the corresponding authorities, the preventive actions carried out and the initiatives implemented to strengthen internal controls in public institutions.
President Luis Abinader was accompanied by the directors of Ethics and Government Integrity (Digeig), Milagros Ortiz Bosch, and of Public Procurement, Carlos Pimentel, as well as the head of the Anti-Fraud Unit, Leonidas Radhamés Peña.
With this visit, the Government reaffirms its support for strengthening the Comptroller General of the Republic and the control mechanisms aimed at guaranteeing the proper use of public resources and citizen trust in institutions.

En el recorrido por las instalaciones de la Unidad Antifraude, ubicadas en la sede de la institución, el mandatario recibió una presentación sobre la evolución de esta dependencia y losprincipales resultadosalcanzados desde su creación, así como sobre las nuevas capacidades especializadas en análisis de información, gestión de riesgos, monitoreo, investigación y coordinación interinstitucional, orientadas a fortalecer las acciones deprevención y respuestaante posibles irregularidades. Al presentar la nueva organización de la Unidad Antifraude, el contralor general de la República,Geraldo Espinosa, destacó que la Unidad Antifraude fortalece la capacidad operativa de esa dependencia y le permitirá actuar con mayorflexibilidad, eficiencia y coordinaciónen los procesos de investigación. Explicó que esta ha logrado importantes avances desde su creación y atribuyó esos resultados alrespaldo del presidente Luis Abinader, cuya visión de fortalecer lalucha contra la corrupción, promover latransparenciay garantizar eluso adecuadode los recursos públicos ha sido determinante para consolidar ese organismo. Asimismo, resaltó que la Unidad Antifraude cuenta con un equipo multidisciplinario integrado por especialistas en investigación, abogados, contadores y otros profesionales, una composición que ha permitido desarrollar investigaciones conmayor rigor técnicoy fortalecer la capacidad institucional paraenfrentar casos de presuntas irregularidades. El funcionario señaló que la aprobación de la estructura organizacional marca una nueva etapa para la Unidad, al consolidar un proceso iniciado en2021, cuando comenzó su organización. Indicó que el crecimiento de esa dependencia ha sido posible gracias a la perseverancia del equipo de trabajo y al respaldo de las autoridades. De igual forma, afirmó que la Unidad Antifraude ha alcanzado reconocimiento tanto en el ámbito nacional como internacional y hafortalecido su credibilidadante los tribunales, al desarrollar investigaciones sustentadas en criterios técnicos yconforme al marco legal vigente. Durante la exposición, las autoridades explicaron que la reorganización de la Unidad responde a la necesidad de consolidar un modelo de actuación más especializado, con mayores capacidades técnicas y operativas para laidentificación temprana de riesgos, el análisis de denuncias, las investigaciones administrativas, el uso de inteligencia de datos y la coordinación con las instituciones competentes para laprotección del patrimonio público. Asimismo, fueron presentados los principales resultados de la Unidad Antifraude, entre ellos las denuncias procesadas, las investigaciones realizadas, los informes remitidos a las autoridades correspondientes, las acciones preventivas ejecutadas y las iniciativas implementadas parafortalecer los controles internosen las instituciones públicas.
