The President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast, announced the activation of the "Employment Mode" in order to create thousands of jobs and thus address one of the main priorities of citizens. After meeting with the Association of Regional Governors of Chile (AGORECHI), in La Moneda, the President announced the measures to confront the labor emergency that the country is going through. The Employment Mode is articulated through an Interministerial Roundtable for employment that brings together the ministries of Economy, Labor and Social Welfare, and of Women and Gender Equality, together with the Subdere, in alliance with regional governors and municipalities. Its mandate is clear: create thousands of jobs through three specific instruments. The first is a hiring subsidy of up to 50% of the minimum monthly income for four months, so that companies hire immediately. The second is direct execution employment, through the generation of temporary jobs through Conaf in the areas with the highest unemployment. The third is urban and neighborhood improvement works already awarded that will be transformed into local work. The initial deployment will have a defined territorial focus: the regions of Biobío, Ñuble and Antofagasta, identified as those that face the most complex labor realities in the country, will concentrate resources and work on the ground as a priority. In this regard, the head of state pointed out that "we are not in the current issue of employment looking for those responsible. We have a serious problem that affects us as a nation and the idea is that we all work together." Furthermore, the President made a "call to the private world, both large companies and SMEs, that this is an occupation, it is not a concern, it is an occupation for all of us, especially in these hardest months, the winter months, for which we all have to be in this Employment Mode." The measure announced by the Executive responds to a specific labor emergency: nearly a million people are looking for work in Chile and cannot find it; More than two million work informally—without a contract, without forecast, without certainties—and the country has been growing at barely around 2% annually for more than a decade, which has made opportunities difficult and employment impoverished.

El Presidente de la República, José Antonio Kast, anunció la activación del "Modo Empleo" con el fin de crear miles de puestos de trabajo y atender así una de las principales prioridades de la ciudadanía. Tras reunirse con la Asociación de Gobernadores Regionales de Chile (AGORECHI), en La Moneda, el Mandatario dio a conocer las medidas para afrontar la emergencia laboral por la cual atraviesa el país.El Modo Empleo se articula a través de una Mesa Interministerial por el empleo que reúne a los ministerios de Economía, Trabajo y Previsión Social, y de la Mujer y la Equidad de Género, junto a la Subdere, en alianza con gobernadores regionales y municipalidades. Su mandato es claro: crear miles de puestos de trabajo mediante tres instrumentos concretos.El primero es un subsidio a la contratación de hasta el 50% del ingreso mínimo mensual por cuatro meses, para que las empresas contraten de manera inmediata. El segundo es el empleo de ejecución directa, mediante la generación de empleos transitorios a través de Conaf en las zonas con mayor desempleo. El tercero son obras de mejoramiento urbano y de barrios ya adjudicadas que se transformarán en trabajo local. El despliegue inicial tendrá un foco territorial definido: las regiones del Biobío, Ñuble y Antofagasta, identificadas como las que enfrentan las realidades laborales más complejas del país, concentrarán de forma prioritaria los recursos y el trabajo en terreno.Al respecto, el jefe de Estado señaló que "nosotros no estamos en el tema coyuntural del empleo buscando responsables. Tenemos un problema grave que nos afecta como nación y la idea es que todos trabajemos juntos". Además, el Presidente hizo un "llamado al mundo privado, tanto a las grandes empresas como a las pymes, que esto es una ocupación, no es una preocupación, es una ocupación de todos nosotros, sobre todo en estos meses más duros que son los meses de invierno, para lo cual tenemos que estar todos en este Modo Empleo".La medida anunciada por el Ejecutivo responde a una emergencia laboral concreta: cerca de un millón de personas busca trabajo en Chile y no lo encuentra; más de dos millones trabajan en la informalidad —sin contrato, sin previsión, sin certezas— y el país lleva más de una década creciendo apenas en torno al 2% anual, lo que ha dificultado las oportunidades y empobrecido el empleo.
