MOPC anuncia cierre temporal del puente flotante por 2 horas este sábado
Santo Domingo.-The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that this Saturday, July 11, the floating bridge over the Ozama River will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, to allow the passage of a boat.
The institution explained that the measure responds to the fact that the TUG Green Chief vessel (tug) will be leaving the Malaca dock facilities.
The floating bridge, which connects the National District with the Villa Duarte sector, in the Santo Domingo Este municipality, will remain out of service during this interval, so drivers are urged to take precautions.
As alternative routes, the MOPCrecommends using the Matías Ramón Mella, Juan Pablo Duarte and Juan Bosch bridges during that period of time, to travel between Santo Domingo and Villa Duarte, in both directions.
