Obras entre San Cristóbal y Juan E. O’Leary avanzan para beneficiar a más de 40.000 habitantes
The president was accompanied by the First Lady of the Nation, Leticia Ocampos; the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Claudia Centurión, as well as national authorities and technical teams from the MOPC.
The work includes the paving of 62.29 kilometers, soil movement, drainage systems, signaling and installation of metal defenses, within the framework of the so-called MOPC No. 87/2024, with an impact on nearly 900,000 inhabitants of the department.
Infrastructure that improves quality of life
When touring the works, the President pointed out that this project responds to a decades-long demand from the communities in the area and recalled that this work is part of the Government's social policy.
He highlighted that the paving will allow the integration of communities that remained isolated for years, improving access to services, reducing travel times and generating new opportunities for thousands of families.
Likewise, he mentioned that the connection between Juan E. O'Leary and San Cristóbal, along with other works carried out in the department, consolidates a strategic corridor for production and logistics, promoting the development of one of the main productive areas of the country.
More competitiveness for producers
For her part, Minister Claudia Centurión explained that the work is more than 30% complete and is being carried out by three Paraguayan companies, which carry out the works in the three lots planned within the project.
The minister highlighted that the new route will improve the access of students and teachers to the educational institutions located along the route, in addition to facilitating the transportation of agricultural and fruit and vegetable production, reducing logistics times and costs.
With this work, the Government of Paraguay continues to promote strategic investments to improve connectivity, strengthen production, reduce territorial inequalities and generate more opportunities for families in the interior of the country.

La ministra resaltó que la nueva ruta permitirá mejorar el acceso de estudiantes y docentes a las instituciones educativas ubicadas a lo largo del trazado, además de facilitar el transporte de la producción agropecuaria y frutihortícola, reduciendo tiempos y costos logísticos. Con esta obra, el Gobierno del Paraguay continúa impulsando inversiones estratégicas paramejorar la conectividad, fortalecer la producción, reducir las desigualdades territoriales y generar más oportunidades para las familias del interior del país.
