Jordan, Egypt discuss regional tensions, condemn Iranian attacks on Arab states

Amman, July 10 (SANA)Jordan and Egypt on Friday condemnedIranian attackstargeting Arab countries and discussed the latest regional developments amid rising tensions.

Jordanian Foreign MinisterAyman Safadiand Egyptian Foreign MinisterBadr Abdelattyheld a phone call during which they reviewed the security situation in the region and the repercussions of the recent escalation, Jordan’s Petra news agency reported.

The two ministers condemned Iranian attacks targeting Arab countries, saying such actions threaten the security, sovereignty and stability of those countries and the safety of their populations.

Safadi saidJordanwould continue taking all necessary measures to protect its security, stability and sovereignty. He also expressed Amman’s full solidarity with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and their efforts to respond to the attacks and safeguard their citizens.

Abdelatty reaffirmedEgypt‘s full support for Jordan in confronting the attacks.

The Jordanian, Kuwaiti and Bahraini militaries said on Thursday that their air defense systems intercepted and destroyed missiles and drones launched from Iran toward their territories.kA.ABD
