SNS autoriza instalación de consultorio médico en el Centro UASD Cotuí
Cotuí, Sánchez Ramírez.–The National Health Service (SNS) authorized the establishment of a medical office at the UASD Cotuí Center, which will be equipped and equipped with health personnel and supplies with the purpose of offering medical care to students, teachers and administrative staff of the institution.
The director of the UASD Cotuí Center, teacher Aurelia Álvarez, reported that the facility already has the physical space where the office will operate and thanked the SNS for its response to the request made by the center's management.
Álvarez explained that the unit will have two doctors, two nurses and a psychologist, designated by the SNS, who will provide primary care services to the university community.
"We are immensely grateful, doctor, to your entire team, for this valuable contribution, because it really represents a very important benefit for the university community. We have students, teachers and servants who require this service," he expressed.
During a visit to the university campus, the executive director of the SNS, Dr. Julio César Landrón, highlighted that this initiative is part of the collaboration agreement signed between the National Health Service (SNS) and the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), executed on the instructions of President Luis Abinader, as part of the support that the Government provides to higher education centers to strengthen academic development and guarantee the well-being of the university community.
Landrón explained that the SNS will guarantee the necessary healthcare support so that students, teachers and collaborators receive health care without having to go to a hospital for basic consultations or first-level services.
“We are committed that in the coming days we will be enabling this space so that it can begin its services for the benefit of the entire university community,” he stated.
Likewise, he announced that this week the health professionals who will provide services in the office will be designated, with the aim of putting the unit into operation in the shortest possible time.
The director of the UASD Cotuí Center valued the support received from the SNS and highlighted the management carried out by Dr. Landrón at the head of the institution.
"When you reach the places where it is needed and contribute what is needed, that has great value. Dr. Landrón has been doing a commendable job and I really congratulate the management he is developing for the benefit of the health of the population," he stated.

Asimismo, anunció que esta misma semana serán designados los profesionales de la salud que prestarán servicios en el consultorio, con el objetivo de poner la unidad en funcionamiento en el menor tiempo posible. La directora del Centro UASD Cotuí valoró el respaldo recibido por parte del SNS y resaltó la gestión que desarrolla el doctor Landrón al frente de la institución. “Cuando usted llega a los lugares donde se necesita y aporta lo que hace falta, eso tiene un gran valor. El doctor Landrón ha estado realizando un trabajo encomiable y realmente felicito la gestión que está desarrollando en beneficio de la salud de la población”,afirmó.
