Syria, UNESCO discuss cooperation to strengthen education system
Damascus, July 10 (SANA)Syria’s Education Ministry andUNESCOdiscussed on Thursday ways to expand cooperation in education, with a focus on developing teachers’ skills and improving the quality of learning.
Deputy Education Minister Yousef Annanmet with UNESCO Deputy Head of Office and Education Sector Coordinator Maysoun Chehab to discuss joint initiatives aimed at strengthening teaching capacities and supporting education development.
The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters inDamascus, focused on developing advanced training programs for teachers and educators to enhance professional skills and improve classroom performance in line with international educational practices.
Both sides highlighted the importance of providing teachers with modern teaching methods and digital skills to keep pace with developments in the education sector and improve learning outcomes.
The Education Ministrysaid it has implemented more than 24 training programs over the past two years, benefiting more than 400,000 teachers as part of ongoing efforts to improve Syria’s education system.
