Damascus, July 9 (SANA)Interior Minister Anas Khattab announced Thursday thearrestof the cell responsible for the terrorist bombings that targeted Damascus two days ago..

In a post on X, Khattab said the identities of the suspects, their roles, and their affiliations will be made public once the investigation is completed.

The Interior Ministry said in a statement on Telegram that Internal Security Forces, in cooperation with the General Intelligence Service, arrested all members of the cell following a precise intelligence operation.

The operation involved a series of simultaneous raids targeting multiple locations across Damascus and its countryside.

The ministry added that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full details of the terrorist plot and the cell’s affiliations.

Two explosions occurred on Tuesday near the Ministry of Tourism after Internal Security Forces detected two improvised explosive devices during field operations and began procedures to defuse them. The devices exploded while preparations for the disposal operation were underway.

According to the Ministry of Health, the explosions killed one person and injured 36 others.
