Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Receives Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources ….. Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received today, Thursday, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye, Alparslan Bayraktar, and the accompanying delegation. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries and reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi affirmed that Iraqi-Turkish relations are founded on historical and geographical ties, as well as long-standing shared interests, noting that the two countries possess broad opportunities to expand cooperation across various sectors. The Prime Minister stated that the government is working to establish the Iraqi-Turkish Fund to finance investment and development projects in Iraq, contributing to the accelerated implementation of strategic projects and strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi also invited Turkish companies to expand their investments in Iraq’s agricultural sector, stressing that the country offers promising opportunities in this field. He noted that the government is moving forward with programs to develop livestock resources, enhance agricultural production, strengthen production value chains, and provide a suitable investment environment and all necessary facilities to advance the agricultural sector and attract high-quality investments. For his part, Minister Bayraktar conveyed the greetings of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Prime Minister Al-Zaidi, expressing his pleasure at visiting Iraq and affirming that Türkiye attaches great importance to its relations with Iraq in light of the country’s pivotal role in the region. The Turkish Minister also highlighted President Erdoğan’s strong interest in the Development Road Project, emphasizing its economic and strategic significance for the region. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s readiness to enter into broad strategic partnerships with Iraq across various sectors, particularly in oil, natural gas, electricity, and regional connectivity, in a manner that advances shared interests and supports development in both countries.
