Ministerio de Deportes inicia los trabajos de construcción de multiuso en el municipio Puñal
Santiago.-The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kelvin Cruz, led the start of the construction of the new multi-use roof in the municipality of Puñal, Santiago province.
The planned investment for this work is RD 28,978,554.35, in an area of 1,200 square meters, to offer a safe and functional space for the development of various sports disciplines and the celebration of community competitions.
During the event, Minister Cruz highlighted that the work represents an investment in the present and future of youth, by offering a space that promotes healthy recreation and the development of sports talent.
The official highlighted that President Luis Abinader maintains the commitment to continue expanding and modernizing the sports infrastructure throughout the country, with the purpose of guaranteeing decent facilities that contribute to the comprehensive training of children and young people, in addition to strengthening the social fabric of the communities.
"A flesh and blood president had to arrive, human, sensitive to the concerns of the communities, and that man is called Luis Abinader, who has immersed himself in sports and his heart in youth, and today he is demonstrating it with actions," Cruz said.
At the event, the civil and provincial governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos Méndez, and the mayor of the municipality of Puñal, José Enrique Romero, thanked the contribution that this facility represents for the community.
The minister was accompanied by the vice president of the Chamber of Deputies, Dharuelly D'Aza, and another official from Santiago.
The project includes the construction of concrete bases and floors, sidewalks, perimeter fencing, stands and mixed bathrooms, in addition to a roof with a metal structure that will guarantee better conditions for sports practice.
As part of the equipment, the court will be equipped with high-performance synthetic floors, two professional accounting stands certified by FIBA, a digital whiteboard, a regulatory 24-second clock and general electrical installations, which raises the standards of the community's sports infrastructure.
