We wanted to change the European approach on immigration, make it more concrete, more responsible and more attentive to the safety of citizens. The facts show that this direction is taking shape. The proposal for a new sanctions regime against criminal networks that exploit migrant trafficking is an important signal towards this objective. Targeting these groups means acting at the root of a phenomenon that profits from people's lives, fuels insecurity and puts human lives at risk. Europe is finally going in the direction that our Government has indicated with determination: to fight human traffickers and reaffirm the principle that the migratory phenomenon must be governed, not immediately. Italy will continue to work so that Europe knows how to defend its borders, fight criminal organizations and govern migratory flows with responsibility and humanity, but also intransigence. 👉🏻 The post 👈🏻

Volevamo cambiare l’approccio europeo sull’immigrazione, renderlo più concreto, più responsabile e più attento alla sicurezza dei cittadini. I fatti dimostrano che questa direzione sta prendendo forma. La proposta di un nuovo regime di sanzioni contro le reti criminali che sfruttano il traffico di migranti è un segnale importante verso questo obiettivo. Colpire questi gruppi significa agire alla radice di un fenomeno che lucra sulla vita delle persone, alimenta insicurezza e mette a rischio vite umane. L’Europa sta finalmente andando nella direzione che il nostro Governo ha indicato con determinazione: contrastare i trafficanti di esseri umani e riaffermare il principio che il fenomeno migratorio va governato, non subito. L’Italia continuerà a lavorare affinché l’Europa sappia difendere i propri confini, combattere le organizzazioni criminali e governare i flussi migratori con responsabilità e umanità, ma anche intransigenza. 👉🏻 Il post 👈🏻
