Two Palestinians killed in Israeli strike as Gaza death toll rises
Occupied Jerusalem, July 9 (SANA)Two Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Thursday in an Israeli drone strike targeting a group of people in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, as Palestinian health authorities reported a further increase in the overall death toll from the war.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, medical sources said Nasser Hospital inKhan Younisreceived two bodies and several injured people after an Israeli drone struck a group of Palestinians between the Batn al-Sameen and Al-Hawouz areas west of the city.
Earlier Thursday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said the death toll from the Israeli offensive onGazasince Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 73,118, with 173,615 people injured.
The ministry said hospitals across the enclave received eight bodies and 17 injured people over the past 24 hours, adding that since the ceasefire ended on Oct. 10 last year, 1,092 people have been killed and 3,507 injured.
Medical sources said a number of victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, with ambulance and rescue crews unable to reach them.
On Wednesday, one Palestinian was killed and several others were injured in an Israeli strike west of Gaza City.
