French-Syrian agreements mark new phase of economic cooperation, al-Qasimi says
Damascus, July.9 (SANA)The agreements signed duringFrench President Emmanuel Macron‘s visit to Damascus could pave the way for broader French investment and stronger economic cooperation between Syria and France, the head of theSyrian-French Business Councilsaid on Thursday.
Jamal al-Qasimi said the accords span transport, logistics, healthcare, water treatment, energy, civil aviation, higher education and investment cooperation, creating fresh opportunities for bilateral business engagement.
He highlighted the strategic partnership with CMA CGM to develop logistics infrastructure, including Latakia Port’s container terminal, dry ports in Damascus and Aleppo, railway connectivity and logistics facilities at the Nasib border crossing.
Additional agreements involve Expertise France, the Central Bank of Syria, Nova Camp, Gide Loyrette Nouel, MEDEF, Ellipse Projects and other institutions focusing on reconstruction, healthcare, investment and institutional cooperation.
Al-Qasimi said the council is preparing a Syrian-French economic conference in Damascus later this year to expand commercial partnerships and encourage greater French private-sector participation in Syria.
