The current state and prospects of expanding partnership between the two countries in the energy sector were discussed.

It was noted that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Japan in December 2025 provided a substantial boost to relations between Uzbekistan and Japan. The notable increase in investment cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, was emphasized.

In Uzbekistan, Japanese companies have participated in the implementation of 14 major energy sector projects valued at $5.6 billion. Currently, work is ongoing on six projects totaling $2.6 billion. Additionally, seven investment projects worth $7.7 billion are in development.

Discussions took place on developing main electrical networks and substations under the EPC+F model, electrifying compressor stations in gas transportation, and expanding electric vehicle charging station networks.

The parties emphasized their commitment to regularly fostering mutually advantageous investment projects.
