Syrian, Jordanian interior ministers discuss security cooperation
Damascus, July 8 (SANA)Interior MinisterAnas Khattabmet in Damascus on Wednesday withJordanian Interior MinisterMazen Al-Faraya to discuss strengthening security cooperation between the two countries.
The Interior Ministry said on its Telegram channel that the talks covered issues of mutual concern and ways to enhance coordination between the two ministries in support of security and stability.
The meeting was attended by the deputy interior minister and several senior ministry officials.
Later, Minister Khattab said cross-border challenges, particularly drug smuggling, organized crime and terrorism, required an effective partnership and continuous coordination, adding that Syria was working to further strengthen cooperation in a way that enhances the security of both countries and the region.
He also praised Jordan’s efforts on various fronts and reaffirmed Syria’s commitment to maintaining coordination and joint cooperation in addressing shared security challenges.
