Damascus, July 8 (SANA)Director of Consular Department at Syrian Foreign Ministry, Mohammad al-Omar, received Wednesday Deputy Head of Mission ofGerman Embassyin Damascus Anna Stege.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance consular cooperation between the two countries and facilitate procedures of common interest.

The discussions also covered prospects for expanding cooperation in consular fields, with the German delegation affirming Germany’s intention to enhance its diplomatic representation in Syria through the appointment of a special consul inDamascus.Following the fall of the ousted regime, Syrian-German relations have shifted toward diplomatic normalization, large-scale humanitarian and stabilization assistance, and joint efforts to repatriate Syrian refugees.
