Palestinian wounded by Israeli fire as raids continue in West Bank, strikes hit Gaza

Occupied Jerusalem, July 8 (SANA)A Palestinian man was wounded by Israeli gunfire near a military checkpoint between Bethlehem andJerusalemon Wednesday, as Israeli occupation forces carried out raids and arrests across the occupied West Bank and continued air and artillery strikes on theGaza Strip.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA,Israeli occupationforces opened fire on the man near the checkpoint. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its medical teams attempted to provide first aid, but Israeli soldiers prevented the evacuation and detained him after transferring him from the ambulance at the checkpoint.

Israeli forces also arrested seven Palestinians during raids across theWest Bank, including one person in Ein al-Hilweh in the northern Jordan Valley, two others in Qalqilya and the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp south of Jericho, and four people, including a woman, in Hebron governorate.

WAFA reported that Israeli troops searched dozens of homes in Hebron and the Ein refugee camp west of Nablus, while several neighborhoods in Hebron were declared closed military zones, restricting residents’ movement.

Israeli forces also demolished a four-apartment residential building in the town of Sur Baher, southeast of occupied Jerusalem.

In the Gaza Strip, Israeli military vehicles shelled eastern Gaza City’s Al-Tuffah neighborhood and western Rafah, while military helicopters opened fire in the northern part of the enclave. Artillery bombardment also targeted the eastern outskirts of the Bureij and Maghazi refugee camps in central Gaza.

On Tuesday evening, two Palestinians, including a child, were killed and four others wounded in an Israeli strike on the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in southwestern Gaza City.
