Damascus, July 7 (SANA)Syria has strongly condemned the attack targeting oil tankers belonging to Saudi Arabia and Qatar while transiting theStrait of Hormuz, describing it as an unacceptable violation of international law and freedom of navigation.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, theMinistry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriatesexpressed Syria’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, rejecting all acts that threaten the security, sovereignty and vital interests of states.

The ministry warned that attacks on international maritime routes pose a serious threat to regional security and stability, and called on the international community to take decisive action to safeguard global shipping lanes.
