ЖамиятFirst International Islamic Civilization Forum opens in Tashkent12:49 / 07.07.2026

The forum, to be held in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Termez from July 7 to 11, is organized by the Islamic Civilization Center in collaboration with the Committee on Religious Affairs, the Imam Maturidi, Imam Bukhari, and Imam Termizi International Research Centers, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

Approximately 300 foreign guests from more than 50 countries are attending the opening ceremony, including heads of international organizations, government and public figures, ministers, muftis, academics, prominent Islamic studies scholars, manuscript heritage specialists, and representatives of museums, libraries, and the media.

Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Speechwriter Khayriddin Sultonov read out the welcoming address from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the forum participants.

The forum is attended by ICESCO Director-General Salim AlMalik, IRCICA Director General Mahmud Erol Kılıç, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, and President of the International Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, as well as representatives of international organizations, the academic community, and the religious figures from Uzbekistan and other countries.

The participants are focusing on the history of Islamic civilization, hadith studies, kalam, manuscript heritage studies, archaeology, museology, cultural heritage preservation, digitalization, cultural diplomacy, and the spiritual and educational reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan.

Presentations of new scholarly publications and joint projects prepared in cooperation with ICESCO, IRCICA, and other international partners occupy a special place in the program. The signing of memoranda and agreements to expand international scientific and cultural cooperation is also planned.

An important part of the forum will be international scientific conferences in Samarkand and Termez dedicated to the legacies of Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Termizi. During the events, scholars will discuss hadith studies, Islamic thought, manuscript studies, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
