Seattle, July 7 (SANA)Belgiumadvanced to thequarterfinalsof the2026 FIFA World Cupwith a convincing 4-1 victory over theUnited Statesin their Round of 16 match in Seattle on Monday.

Belgium took an early lead through Charles De Ketelaere, who opened the scoring in the ninth minute. The United States equalized in the 31st minute when Malik Tillman found the net, but De Ketelaere restored Belgium’s advantage just two minutes later to give his side a 2-1 lead at halftime.

Belgium maintained control after the break and extended its lead in the 57th minute through Hans Vanaken, continuing to pressure the U.S. defense.

Romelu Lukaku added a fourth goal in the third minute of stoppage time to seal Belgium’s 4-1 victory and secure its place in the last eight.

Belgium will face Spain in the quarterfinals after the Spanish side defeated Portugal 1-0 in the Round of 16.
