President of Uzbekistan calls for strengthening beneficial cooperation with JordanOn 6 July, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Ayman Hussein Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The distinguished guest conveyed to the Head of State the sincere greetings and best wishes of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan.
The current issues related to expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Jordan were discussed at the meeting.
It was noted with satisfaction that the high-level talks held in Samarkand last year had opened a new chapter in the history of bilateral relations.
As part of the agreements reached, interparliamentary friendship groups were established this year, the first meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission was held, a Business Council was formed, and direct air links were launched.
Particular attention was paid to deepening political dialogue and advancing joint projects and programs in the trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
The parties also exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
