Syrian, Moroccan officials hold high-level diplomatic and consular talks in Damascus
Damascus, July 6 (SANA)The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates received a high-level official delegation from theMinistry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriateson Monday to advance bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to an official ministry statement issued following a series of general and bilateral sessions today, the two sides discussed frameworks for expanding joint cooperation in international affairs and mutual consular files.
The delegations underscored the importance of modernizing existing agreements to better align with recent regional shifts and bilateral developments, actively moving past the stagnant diplomatic deadlocks and regional isolation strategies previously left behind by the deposed regime.
On the sidelines of the visit, Mohammad al-Omar, Director of the Consular Department at the Syrian Ministry, held a focused meeting with his Moroccan counterpart. The two officials reviewed specialized mechanisms to facilitate consular procedures for their respective expatriate communities, while establishing technical coordination channels to enhance bureaucratic and administrative exchange between the two departments.
