ETED restablece el servicio de transmisión eléctrica hacia Jimaní
Santo Domingo.–The Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED) reported that the electrical service to Jimaní was normalized for users at 3:03 in the morning this Monday, after, at 1:54, its specialized technical brigades concluded the maneuvers that allowed the 69 kV Cruce de Cabral – Duvergé line and the branch to the Jimaní distribution substation to be re-energized, and that it was subsequently re-energized. will energize the distribution circuits.
The work included the installation of temporary structures on wooden poles and the repair of two metal structures that were also damaged, carried out uninterruptedly since Saturday.
The restoration was achieved in less than 48 hours since the incident that occurred on Saturday, July 4, which caused the total collapse of two transmission towers and severe damage to a third structure of the bypass towards Jimaní, with the consequent temporary interruption of supply in said area.
The ETED staff worked under strict security protocols and with the deployment of all the technical and human resources of the institution.
"We assumed the commitment to restore the service in the shortest possible time and we fulfilled it. Our brigades worked tirelessly, day and night, until returning energy to Jimaní," said executive vice president, Alfonso Rodríguez Tejada, who personally supervised the work from the Independencia province.
In a next stage, the institution will carry out the reconstruction of the final metal structures, without this implying additional interruptions for the community.
Regarding the causes of the incident, the ETED continues the corresponding technical evaluations, in coordination with the competent authorities, and will offer the information in a timely manner through its official channels.
The institution appreciates the understanding of the residents of the area, recognizes the extraordinary effort of its brigades and reiterates its commitment to the stability and reliability of the National Interconnected Electrical System (SENI).

Los trabajos incluyeron la instalación deestructuras provisionalesen postes de madera y lareparación de dos estructuras metálicasque también resultaron con daños, ejecutados de manera ininterrumpida desde el sábado. El restablecimiento se logróen menos de 48 horasdesde el incidente ocurrido el sábado 4 de julio, que provocó el colapso total de dos torres de transmisión y daños severos en una tercera estructura de la derivación hacia Jimaní, con la consecuenteinterrupción temporaldel suministro en dicha zona. El personal de la ETED trabajó bajoestrictos protocolos de seguridady con el despliegue de todos los recursos técnicos y humanos de la institución. “Asumimos el compromiso de restablecer el servicio en el menor tiempo posible y lo cumplimos. Nuestras brigadas trabajaron sin descanso, de día y de madrugada, hasta devolver la energía a Jimaní”,expresó el vicepresidente ejecutivo,Alfonso Rodríguez Tejada, quien supervisó personalmente las labores desde la provincia Independencia. En unapróxima etapa, la institución ejecutará la reconstrucción de lasestructuras metálicas definitivas, sin que ello implique interrupciones adicionales para la comunidad. En cuanto a las causas del incidente, la ETED continúa lasevaluaciones técnicas correspondientes, en coordinación con las autoridades competentes, y ofrecerá la información oportunamente por sus canales oficiales.
