Damascus, July 6 (SANA)Rahmah Worldwide Foundation, in cooperation with theMinistries of Social Affairs and Labor and Culture, honored 180 orphaned children at a ceremony held at theDamascus Opera Houseon Sunday.

The children, who are sponsored by the foundation, include sons and daughters of those martyred during the Syrian revolution and of victims of enforced disappearance. The event aimed to highlight the importance of supportingorphaned childrenand reaffirm cooperation between government institutions and humanitarian organizations in providing them with care and opportunities.

Assistant Defense Minister Ahmad Issa al-Sheikhsaid caring for children of martyrs is a national and humanitarian responsibility, describing them as an extension of the values of sacrifice and dignity embodied by their parents and as contributors toSyria’s future.

Deputy Culture Minister Saad al-Naasansaid investing in people remains central to rebuilding the new Syria, adding that honoring the sacrifices of martyrs begins with protecting their children’s aspirations and expanding their opportunities through education and culture.

Rahmah Worldwide Foundation President Shadi Zaza said the ceremony reflects years of humanitarian work supporting orphaned children across Syria during the Syrian revolution. He praised the efforts ofhumanitarian workers, volunteers and donors who continued their work despite difficult conditions.

The event featured documentary films on humanitarian assistance provided to orphaned children and other vulnerable groups during theSyrian revolution, personal stories from orphaned children, and theatrical performances, poetry and recitations presented by the children.

Rahmah Worldwide was established in 2014 by Syrians and is headquartered in the U.S. state of Michigan. The organization carries out humanitarian relief and development projects in several countries.
