Damascus, July 6 (SANA)One civilian was killed and 19 others injured in traffic accidents and fires across several Syrian provinces over the past 24 hours, the Syrian Civil Defense said on Monday.

According to theCivil Defense, emergency teams responded to 16 traffic accidents, which left one person dead and 17 others injured. Rescue teams provided first aid to the injured before transferring them to nearby hospitals and cleared the accident sites to restore traffic.

Civil Defense teams also extinguished 154 fires across the country, including three in agricultural fields and 151 involving homes, commercial shops, dry vegetation and electrical wiring.

Two civilians were injured in the fires and received first aid at the scene. The remaining incidents caused material damage only, the Civil Defense said.
