Syria’s Jousieh crossing with Lebanon records 522,000 travelers in first half of 2026
Homs, July 6 (SANA)More than 522,000 travelers crossed through Syria’sJousieh border crossingwith Lebanon during the first half of 2026, including about 127,000 Syrian returnees under thevoluntary returnprogram, the General Authority for Borders and Customs said on Monday.
The authority said 522,000 travelers used the crossing between January and June, including 331,000 arrivals into Syria and 191,000 departures.
It said the crossing continued to receive travelers and refugees returning voluntarily amid measures aimed at facilitating border procedures and expediting the processing of travelers.
The authority said it is continuing efforts to improve operations at Syria’s border crossings by simplifying procedures, enhancing staff preparedness and upgrading services to facilitate passenger movement, support trade and transport, and strengthen the efficiency of border crossings as key gateways to the national economy.kA.ABD
