Damascus, July 6 (SANA)Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar met a German business delegation on Monday to discuss investment opportunities and ways to expand economic cooperation between the two countries.

The delegation was led by a representative of theGerman Near and Middle East Business Association (NUMOV)and included representatives of several German companies.

According to a ministry statement, the two sides reviewed investment opportunities across several priority sectors and discussed ongoing reforms aimed at improving Syria’s investment climate and enhancing its competitiveness.

Al-Shaarreaffirmed Syria’s openness to international investment and welcomed investors seeking to contribute to the country’s development and early recovery. He stressed the ministry’s commitment to transparency and creating a favorable environment for sustainable investment.

The meeting follows talks held on June 16 between al-Shaar andGerman Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office Serap Güler, during which the two sides discussed strengthening long-term economic cooperation and expanding bilateral trade.
