Gobierno informa el retorno de otras 84 personas desde Venezuela
Santo Domingo.–The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex) reported that the Dominican Government facilitated the return to the country of another 62 citizens who required assistance to leave the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela after the earthquakes that affected that nation, bringing the total to 171 people who have returned safely through the humanitarian flights arranged by President Luis Abinader, within the framework of Operation Quisqueya Solidarity. 2026.
Upon arriving in the country, the returnees were received at the International Airport of the Americas by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña; the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, and the Vice Minister of Bilateral Foreign Policy of Mirex, Francisco Caraballo, representing Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez.
On this occasion, 50 Dominicans and 12 Venezuelans with ties to Dominicans who were in Venezuela arrived in the country.
The humanitarian flight, managed by Mirex and operated by the Arajet airline, also allowed the return to the country of the Dominican search and rescue team for collapsed structures (USAR), made up of the 19 rescuers who made up the first international mission to arrive in Venezuela after the earthquakes occurred.
Likewise, the Mirex mission returned to the country, headed by the director of Protection of Nationals Abroad, Miguel Reyes, and two other officials, which was responsible for the task of assisting Dominicans who wanted to return to the Dominican Republic after the tragedy.
This operation was coordinated by the Vice Minister for Consular and Immigration Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, Opinio Díaz, who was accompanied by Ambassador Juan José Portorreal, Director of Staff of the institution, and Ambassador Briunny Garabito, inspector of the Dominican Foreign Service.
The air operation, in addition to returning these people, brought to Venezuela in the morning another shipment of humanitarian aid and a team from the Ministry of Public Health, headed by Minister Víctor Atallahe, made up of 40 doctors, water engineers, psychiatrists, psychologists, technicians and other professionals who will offer services to Venezuelans affected by the earthquakes in an EMT-1 mobile hospital.
As part of the official mission, the general director of the National Office of Seismic Evaluation and Vulnerability of Infrastructure and Buildings (Onesvie), Leonardo Reyes Madera, also traveled, who, when evaluating the vulnerability of the buildings where the Embassy and Consulate of the Dominican Republic operated in Venezuela, said that the structures do not present significant damage, so he will recommend the mechanisms to correct some cracks in the walls, through a technical report.
Mirex reiterated that it will continue to coordinate assistance and protection actions for Dominicans abroad, while reaffirming the commitment of the Dominican Government to maintain its solidarity support for the Venezuelan people through humanitarian initiatives and international cooperation.

El vuelo humanitario, gestionado por el Mirex y operado por la línea aérea Arajet, también permitió el retorno al país delequipo dominicano de búsqueda y rescateen estructuras colapsadas (USAR), integrado por los19 rescatistasque conformaron la primera misión internacional en llegar a Venezuela tras la ocurrencia de los sismos. Asimismo, regresó al país la misión del Mirex, encabezada por el director de Protección a Nacionales en el Exterior,Miguel Reyes, y otros dos funcionarios, la cual tuvo bajo su responsabilidad la tarea deasistir a los dominicanosque quisieron retornar a la República Dominicana tras la tragedia. Esta operación estuvo coordinada por el viceministro para Asuntos Consulares y Migratorios de la Cancillería,Opinio Díaz, quien se hizo acompañar del embajadorJuan José Portorreal,director de Gabinete de la institución, y el embajadorBriunny Garabito,inspector del Servicio Exterior Dominicano. La operación aérea, además de retornar a estas personas, llevó en horas de la mañana a Venezuelaotro cargamento de ayuda humanitariay un equipo del Ministerio de Salud Pública, encabezado por elministro Víctor Atallahe integrado por40 médicos, ingenieros en agua, psiquiatras, psicólogos, técnicosy otros profesionales que ofrecerán servicios a los venezolanos afectados por los terremotos en unhospital móvil EMT-1. Como parte de la misión oficial, también viajó el director general de la Oficina Nacional de Evaluación Sísmica y Vulnerabilidad de Infraestructura y Edificaciones (Onesvie),Leonardo Reyes Madera,quien, al evaluar la vulnerabilidad de los inmuebles donde operaban la Embajada y el Consulado de República Dominicana en Venezuela, refirió que las estructuras no presentan daños importantes, por lo que recomendará los mecanismos decorrección de algunas fisurasen paredes, a través de un informe técnico. El Mirex reiteró que continuará coordinando lasacciones de asistencia y protecciónpara los dominicanos en el exterior, al tiempo que reafirmó el compromiso del Gobierno dominicano de mantener suapoyo solidarioal pueblo venezolano medianteiniciativas humanitarias y de cooperación internacional.
