Chequéate RD realiza jornada médica gratuita para detectar a tiempo el cáncer en Guayubín
Guayubín, Montecristi.– Day number 588 of the Program for the Timely Detection of Breast, Cervical and Prostate Cancer, Chequéate RD, promoted by the Office of the First Lady and the National Health Service (SNS), arrived this Saturday in the municipality of Guayubín, with the aim of bringing preventive health services and free medical care to the population.
The operation was led by the executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), Dr. Julio Landrón, who reaffirmed the Government's commitment to continue strengthening prevention as one of the main strategies to protect health and save lives.
During the event, Dr. Landrón highlighted that the true purpose of the program is to offer the population the opportunity to detect diseases in time that, with a timely diagnosis, can be treated with greater chances of success.
"Today we do not simply come to develop a health journey; we come to bring hope and the opportunity to save lives. Behind every early diagnosis there is a mother who will be able to continue hugging her children, a father who will continue to be the breadwinner for his family and a person who will have a new opportunity to continue building his dreams," he expressed.
Likewise, he recalled that breast, cervical and prostate cancer continue to represent important challenges for public health, which is why he urged the population to take advantage of these free operations.
"An examination that takes a few minutes can mean many more years of life. The best medicine continues to be prevention; we do not wait for the disease to appear before acting, we want to get ahead and provide care before it is too late," he said.
For her part, the coordinator of Health Intervention Development of the SNS, Dr. Blanca Conigliaro, reported that with Guayubín there have already been 588 days carried out nationwide, providing preventive services to thousands of Dominicans.
Conigliaro invited the population to take advantage of the free services available during the operation, highlighting that prevention is the best tool to preserve health and guarantee a future with the family.
"We invite the entire community to come and get checked. Prevention is what guarantees us a future as a family. Here we have mammograms, prostate tests (PSA), general medicine consultations, nutrition, pediatrics, dentistry and pharmacy. Take advantage of this opportunity and invite your family, friends and neighbors so that together we can preserve health," he expressed.
Among the beneficiaries of the day, Luis Agustín Monel Blanco positively valued the initiative and thanked the Government for bringing free health services to the community. The community member stated that he went to the operation to be evaluated for headaches, control his blood pressure and have his ears checked.
Likewise, he stressed that he received all the care at no cost and considered that this type of actions contribute to improving the population's access to health services. "For me it is very important that the Government does this. Here they are taking good care of us and we have not had to pay a single peso," he said.
For her part, Oscaria de la Rosa highlighted the importance of this type of operations reaching the communities, considering that they facilitate access to preventive studies that many people cannot afford.
During the day, attendees received evaluations for the timely detection of breast, cervical and prostate cancer, in addition to general medicine consultations, PSA tests, nutrition services, pediatrics, dentistry, pharmacy and guidance on healthy lifestyles, as part of the actions developed by Chequéate RD to promote a culture of prevention throughout the country.

Detrás de cada diagnóstico temprano hay una madre que podrá seguir abrazando a sus hijos, un padre que continuará siendo el sostén de su familia y una persona que tendrá una nueva oportunidad para seguir construyendo sus sueños”,expresó. Asimismo, recordó que elcáncer de mama, el cervicouterino y el de próstatacontinúan representando importantes desafíos para la salud pública, por lo que exhortó a la población a aprovechar estos operativos gratuitos. “Un examen que toma pocos minutos puede significar muchos años más de vida. La mejor medicina sigue siendo la prevención; no esperamos que la enfermedad aparezca para actuar, queremos adelantarnos y brindar atención antes de que sea demasiado tarde”,manifestó. De su lado, la coordinadora de Desarrollo de Intervención en Salud del SNS,doctora Blanca Conigliaro,informó que con Guayubín ya suman588 jornadas realizadasa nivel nacional, llevando servicios preventivos a miles de dominicanos. Conigliaro invitó a la población a aprovechar los servicios gratuitos disponibles durante el operativo, al destacar quela prevención es la mejor herramientapara preservar la salud y garantizar un futuro en familia. “Invitamos a toda la comunidad a venir y chequearse. La prevención es lo que nos garantiza un futuro en familia. Aquí contamos con mamografías, pruebas de próstata (PSA), consultas de medicina general, nutrición, pediatría, odontología y farmacia. Aprovechen esta oportunidad e inviten a sus familiares, amigos y vecinos para que juntos podamos preservar la salud”,expresó. Entre los beneficiarios de la jornada,Luis Agustín Monel Blancovaloró positivamente la iniciativa y agradeció al Gobierno por acercarservicios de salud gratuitosa la comunidad. El comunitario expresó que acudió al operativo para evaluarse por dolores de cabeza, controlar su presión arterial y realizarse una revisión de los oídos. Asimismo, destacó que recibió todas las atencionessin costo algunoy consideró que este tipo de acciones contribuyen a mejorar el acceso de la población a los servicios de salud.“Para mí es muy importante que el Gobierno haga esto. Aquí nos están atendiendo bien y no hemos tenido que pagar un solo peso”,manifestó. De su lado,Oscaria de la Rosadestacó la importancia de que este tipo de operativos lleguen a las comunidades, al considerar que facilitan el acceso aestudios preventivosque muchas personas no pueden costear. Durante la jornada, los asistentes recibieron evaluaciones para ladetección oportuna del cáncer de mama, cervicouterino y de próstata,además de consultas de medicina general, pruebas de PSA, servicios denutrición, pediatría, odontología, farmacia y orientaciónsobre estilos de vida saludables, como parte de las acciones que desarrollaChequéate RDpara fomentar una cultura de prevención en todo el país.
