London, July.5 (SANA)U.S. President Donald Trumpheld separate telephone conversations withRussian President Vladimir PutinandUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reaffirming his willingness to help achieve a negotiated end to the war in Ukraine ahead of next week’s NATO summit.

According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, Trump told Putin he was ready to support efforts to reach a political and diplomatic settlement. Putin reiterated Russia’s position that any resolution must reflect its core interests, while accusing Kyiv and its European allies of prolonging the conflict. He also said Russian forces were making gains on the battlefield, a claim Ukraine rejected.

Ushakov said Trump indicated that U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would continue mediation efforts and were prepared to make another visit to Moscow. Putin also expressed hope that U.S. diplomacy on Iran would contribute to broader regional stability and renewed his invitation for Trump to visit Moscow.

Zelenskyy described his conversation with Trump as “very good,” saying the U.S. president reaffirmed his commitment to working toward a swift end to the war. The two leaders agreed to continue discussions during the upcoming NATO summit, with Zelenskyy stressing that continued U.S. engagement would be crucial to advancing peace efforts.
