Damascus, July.5 (SANA)Syria extended its sincere congratulations and best wishes to the government and people of the sisterly People’s Democratic Republic ofAlgeriaon the anniversary ofIndependence Day.

In a statement issued on Sunday, theSyrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriatessaid that the occasion commemorates the immense sacrifices made by the Algerian people in their liberation struggle for freedom.

The ministry affirmed Syria’s pride in the historic relations and strong fraternal ties linking the two sisterly countries, wishing Algeria continued security, prosperity and further national advancement.

Algeria marks its Independence Day on July 5, commemorating the culmination of decades of popular resistance against French colonial rule. The anniversary also reflects the country’s commitment to honoring the legacy of its martyrs and continuing its path toward development and strengthening national sovereignty.
