London, July 5 (SANA)Acargo vesselcame under attack about 30 nautical miles southwest of Yemen’s Hodeidah, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Sunday.

The UKMTO said it received a distress call from the vessel reporting that it had been attacked while transiting the area.

The agency said the incident is under investigation and that relevant authorities have been notified.

It advised ships operating in the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity as it continues to monitor the security situation in waters offYemen.

On June 11, the UKMTO reported a fire in the engine room of an oil tanker near theStrait of Hormuzoff the coast of Oman. No cause for the incident was disclosed.kA.ABD
