Syria dispatches more than 7 million liters of gasoline to ease fuel demand

Damascus, July 5 (SANA)Syria’sMinistry of Energysaid more than 7 million liters ofgasolineare being distributed to fuel stations across the country on Sunday aiming at easing pressure on supplies following a recent surge in demand.

The ministry said 305 fuel shipments, each carrying 24,000 liters, are being dispatched from distribution centers inBaniyasandHomsas part of the country’s dailyfuelsupply plan.

Abdul Hamid Sallat, director of the ministry’s media department, told SANA that 164 shipments, totaling 3.94 million liters, had been delivered by midday, while the remaining tankers were continuing to destinations across the country.

Sallat said unusually high demand in recent days had temporarily depleted supplies at some fuel stations and led to queues while new deliveries were in transit. He said fuel imports and distribution operations continue without interruption.

The ministry said it is monitoring deliveries around the clock to ensure fuel reaches stations as quickly as possible and urged motorists to refuel only when necessary, saying supplies remain stable and distribution is continuing nationwide.

On Saturday, the ministry said it was working with companies in the fuel sector to reduce congestion at service stations, particularly in Damascus and other affected areas, and restore normal operations.
