Zelenskyy discusses coordination of peace diplomacy with Macron

Kyiv, July.5 (SANA)Ukrainian PresidentVolodymyr Zelenskyydiscussed withFrench PresidentEmmanuel Macronthe coordination of diplomatic efforts to achieve peace, the situation on the front lines, and Ukraine’s need for additional air defense systems.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian president announced this on Telegram.

According to him, Macron has been briefed on the current diplomatic prospects.

“It is important that every step we take in negotiations, in putting pressure on Russia, and in bringing peace closer be as well-prepared and coordinated with our key partners as possible,” he emphasized.

Zelensky stressed that Europe must be involved in the diplomatic process.

“Our position is that Europe must be involved in the diplomatic process, and Europe’s voice must carry weight,” he wrote.

The president also briefed his French counterpart on the situation on the battlefield and key security threats.

“Russia is doing everything it can to continue its missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian territory, on our cities and villages,” he noted.

The heads of state also discussed ways to strengthen the defense of Ukraine’s airspace, particularly the need for additional air defense systems.

“We are very much counting on France’s support and strong decisions. Thank you!” Zelensky said.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson the strengthening of air defense and countermeasures against Russian ballistic weapons.
