Damascus, July 5 (SANA)Two people were killed and 19 others injured in road accidents and fires reported across Syria over the past 24 hours, theSyrian Civil Defensesaid on Sunday.

Civil Defense teams responded to 21 roadaccidents, in which two people were killed and 16 others injured. Emergency crews provided first aid, transferred the injured to hospitals and secured the accident sites, according to the Civil Defense.

The teams also responded to 62 fires, including 13 inagricultural fieldsand crops. The remaining incidents involved homes, commercial premises, dry vegetation, trees, garbage and electrical wiring. Three civilians were injured and taken to hospitals after receiving first aid, while the remaining damage was limited to property losses.

The Civil Defense urged the public to avoid lightingfiresin forests and agricultural areas, refrain from discarding cigarette butts or glass bottles near fields and wooded areas, and remove dry vegetation safely instead of burning it to help reduce the risk of wildfires.
