Medical exhibition in Damascus showcases latest ophthalmic surgery technologies
Damascus, July 4 (SANA)A specialized medical exhibition showcased the latest ophthalmic surgical equipment on Saturday as part of the “Ophthalmology Horizons” conference organized by the Arab-European Ophthalmic Society (AEOS).
Medical equipment engineer Yasser Itr told SANA that the exhibition presents surgical tools and consumables for various eye surgeries, including cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus and blepharoplasty.
Ophthalmic equipment engineer Anas Habash said the event features a “wet lab” workshop equipped with operating rooms, microscopes and cow eyes to train doctors on new surgical techniques, along with advanced devices for optic nerve and retinal imaging.
Medical equipment engineer Burhan Dalati said the exhibition aims to support the local ophthalmic sector with the latest global technological advancements.
Sponsored by theMinistry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the conference opened on Friday at the Cham Hotel in Damascus. It features broad participation from doctors and academics representing Syria,Arab countriesandEurope.
