Damascus, July 4 (SANA)Syria extended its congratulations to the government and people of the United States on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day, theMinistry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriatessaid in a statement on Saturday.

The ministry reaffirmed Syria’s commitment to promoting dialogue and advancing relations based on mutual respect and shared interests, contributing to regional and international peace and security while serving the aspirations of both peoples for greater cooperation and peace, according to the statement.

TheUnited Statesmarks the 250th anniversary of its independence on July 4, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

Syrian-U.S. relations have entered a new phase since the fall of the deposed regime in December 2024, with both countries taking steps to restore diplomatic and economic ties.
