Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Visits the Ministry of Interior and Approves the Promotion of a Number of Ministry Officers ………. Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi visited the Ministry of Interior today, Saturday, where he chaired a meeting attended by the Ministry’s Undersecretaries and senior officers. The meeting reviewed the Ministry’s security plans, its efforts across various security sectors, the services it provides to citizens, and the key challenges facing its work and the measures required to address them. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi commended the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, including all its officers and service members, in maintaining stability and strengthening public security. He stressed that the Ministry’s direct engagement with citizens places a responsibility on all those serving in the Ministry to deliver high-quality services and treat citizens with the utmost respect, in accordance with human rights standards and free from political partisanship. The Prime Minister also addressed the government’s continued efforts to combat corruption and pursue corrupt individuals to restore the rights of the Iraqi people. He emphasized that the Ministry of Interior serves as the government’s frontline institution in the fight against corruption and stressed that there would be no tolerance for any corrupt individual, regardless of affiliation. He further reiterated his directives to the Integrity Commission, the Federal Board of Supreme Audit, and the security forces to continue pursuing corruption cases, which have become a key public demand. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi also expressed his appreciation for the strong support shown by the leader of the National Shiite Movement, Sayyid Muqtada Al-Sadr, the Council of Representatives, the Supreme Judicial Council, as well as all political forces and tribal leaders, for the government’s campaign against corruption. The meeting also reviewed the mechanisms and regulations governing the promotion and retirement of officers. It voted to approve the promotion of officers from the rank of Brigadier General to Major General, and from Major General to Lieutenant General. In this regard, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces affirmed that all officers will receive the promotions to which they are entitled, and that no officer or member of the Ministry will be deprived of his or her entitlement. ……….
