President of Uzbekistan visits modern medical center in SergeliPresident Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the operations of the private multidisciplinary medical center Global International Hospital in Sergeli district.
Protecting public health and improving the quality and accessibility of medical services are among the priorities of state policy. To this end, investment is being attracted to the healthcare sector, and support is being provided to develop the private sector.
This modern medical center provides the public with a wide range of in-demand medical services.
A total investment of $30 million was made to build the center, which can serve over 150,000 patients each year. Covering 0.5 hectares, the facility aims to boost its annual service revenue to 15 billion UZS.
The Head of State was informed about the medical center’s activities. The President reviewed the conditions in the surgical, intensive care, and treatment departments, as well as in the situation center.
The project has created 250 new jobs. More than 10 highly qualified specialists have received advanced training abroad, and foreign doctors also work at the center.
The center is equipped with modern British, Italian, and German medical equipment. In particular, advanced medical technologies from Philips have been installed.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of developing the center into a leading medical institution in selected fields. The responsible officials were instructed to organize advanced training for doctors based on the best practices accumulated at the center and to expand public access to modern medical services.
A conversation was also held with the medical center staff. Particular attention was paid to supporting specialists working in the sector, increasing the number of private medical institutions, and providing the public with high-quality, modern, and effective medical services.
“Along with providing every patient with high-quality, dignified care, medical and tourism services should be harmoniously integrated. This area should be widely promoted, international experience should be studied, and hotel infrastructure at hospitals should be developed”, the Head of State said.
