Death toll from Venezuela twin earthquakes rises to 2645
Caracas, July 4 (SANA)The death toll from thetwin earthquakesthat devastatedVenezuelahas risen to 2,645, according to the latest official figures.
According to updated official figures released on Friday and reported by AFP, 12,000 people have been injured, while thousands are still missing.
A previous official tally announced by Venezuela’s interim president,Delcy Rodríguezreported 2,595 deaths.
Two powerful earthquakes of more than magnitude 7 struck Venezuela on June 24, collapsing dozens of residential complexes, mostly in thecoastal area of La Guaira north of Caracas.
Syria’s Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Managementdispatched an international Syrian rescue team on June 27 to assist in search and rescue operations in Venezuela, in coordination withQata’s Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).
