Kansas City, July 4 (SANA)Colombiaqualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 after defeatingGhana1-0 in their Round of 32 match held on Saturday morning in the U.S. city ofKansas City.

Jhon Ariasscored the only goal of the match in the 14th minute after converting a pass from a teammate, giving Colombia an early lead.

Colombia had a second goal ruled out in the 56th minute whenLuis Díaz‘s effort was disallowed for offside.

Despite Ghana’s attempts to equalize, Colombia’s defense and goalkeeper managed to preserve the lead until the final whistle.

With the victory, Colombia advanced to the Round of 16, where they will face Switzerland next Tuesday.
