My first trip to Timor-Leste was short but fruitful. It marks a new chapter in our bilateral relationship. I had good discussions with President José Ramos-Horta and Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão on how we can deepen cooperation in new areas. Timor-Leste is a young nation with a remarkable story of determination and resilience. Singapore stands ready to support Timor-Leste as it takes the next steps on its ASEAN journey.
