Mulino y Fujimori proponen revitalizar el tratado comercial entre Panamá y Perú
The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, and the elected President of Peru, Keiko Fujimori held a video call this Friday, in which they agreed that the moment is opportune to give a boost to the Panama-Peru Free Trade Agreement, for the benefit of both peoples.
During the cordial conversation, Fujimori extended an invitation to the Panamanian president for his inauguration, a ceremony to be held on July 28 in Lima. Mulino not only confirmed his presence at the inauguration, but also invited the president-elect to come to Panama in January 2027, when the International Economic Forum Latin America and the Caribbean organized by CAF - development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean - will be held in Panama City.
“I must convey to you, on behalf of the Panamanian people and my government, the most effusive congratulations, wishes for success and triumphs in your management, hoping with your mandate to reaffirm the bilateral relationship with Panama and Peru, a country with which we are very united,” said President Mulino. “I reiterate my friendship and the most genuine desire for collaboration between our two countries and peoples.”
Fujimori, for his part, praised Panama's economic growth in recent years, and recognized the efficiency of this country as a commercial and tourism hub. “It is a great pleasure for me to be able to greet you, to thank you for your message, your support and your affection,” said the elected president.
"Our intention is to strengthen the FTA that has been in force for 14 years, strengthen this commercial exchange and - of course - our embrace of friendship," he stressed.

El presidente de la República, José Raúl Mulino, y la presidenta electa del Perú, Keiko Fujimori sostuvieron una videollamada este viernes, en la cual coincidieron en que el momento es oportuno para darle un reimpulso al Tratado de Libre Comercio Panamá-Perú, para beneficio de ambos pueblos. Durante la cordial conversación, Fujimori extendió invitación al presidente panameño para su juramentación, ceremonia a realizarse el próximo 28 de julio en Lima.Mulino no solo confirmó su presencia en la toma de posesión, sino que también invitó a la presidenta electa a venir a Panamá en enero de 2027, cuando se realice en ciudad de Panamá el Foro Económico Internacional América Latina y el Caribe que organiza CAF -banco de desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe. “Debo transmitirle, a nombre del pueblo panameño y de mi gobierno, las más efusivas felicitaciones, deseos de éxitos y de triunfos en la gestión, esperando con su mandato reafirmar la relación bilateral con Panamá y Perú, país con el que nos une mucho”, expresó el presidente Mulino. “Le reitero mi amistad y el deseo más genuino de colaboración entre nuestros dos países y pueblos”. Fujimori, por su parte, elogió el crecimiento económico de Panamá en los últimos años, y reconoció la eficiencia de este país como hub comercial y de turismo. “Es para mí un gran gusto poder saludarlo, agradecer su mensaje, su respaldo y su cariño”, dijo la mandataria electa. “Nuestra intención es fortalecer el TLC que tiene ya 14 años de vigencia, fortalecer ese intercambio comercial y -por supuesto- nuestro abrazo de amistad”, recalcó.
