Gobierno baja precios de los combustibles para la primera semana de julio
Santo Domingo, D.N. – The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM) reported that there will be reductions of RD 5.00 in the prices of gasoline and regular diesel, and of RD 3.00 in premium gasoline and optimal diesel, through a subsidy of RD 424.53 million, for the week of July 4 to 10, 2026.
The greatest drops occur in diesel and regular gasoline, because they are the fuels most used by the passenger and cargo transportation sector, thereby protecting the population with lower economic capacity. Fuel oil #6 also drops, around RD 4.50 and fuel oil #1, RD 2.93.
The cost of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the main fuel used by Dominican households, remains unchanged, which has been frozen for a year despite price instability due to the Middle East conflict that began in February 2026.
Since the beginning of the conflict, the margin of the refiner oCrack Spread rose from USD 37.29 per barrel of diesel at the end of February to USD 62.64 per barrel at the end of June. Meanwhile, gasoline went from USD 24.67 to USD 52.19 per barrel.
That is, the refiner's margin per barrel of gasoline has risen by USD 25.35 in the last four months, as has USD 27.52 in diesel and has remained at those levels.
Under the Import Parity model, the country purchases the finished product at these volatile international prices.
The Dominican Republic only refines around 20% of what its market consumes.
For the week of July 4 to 10, 2026, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs provides that fuels be marketed at the following prices:
Premium gasoline will be sold at RD 338.10 per gallon down from RD 3.00.
Regular gasoline RD 305.50 per gallon low RD 5.00.
Regular diesel RD 257.80 per gallon low RD 5.00.
Optimum diesel RD 290.10 per gallon low RD 3.00.
Avtur RD 238.03 per gallon up RD 6.25.
Kerosene RD 272.80 per gallon up RD 6.90.
Fuel oil #6 RD 152.36 per gallon low RD 4.50.
Fuel oil 1%S RD$177.86 per gallon low RD 2.93.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) RD 137.20 per gallon maintains its price.
Natural Gas RD 43.97 per m3 maintains its price.
The average weekly exchange rate is RD 60.00, according to the daily publications of the Central Bank.
