Interior y Policía y el Ceccom desmantelan en Azua fábrica clandestina con más de 25 mil litros de alcohol adulterado
Santo Domingo.-The Ministry of the Interior and Police reported this Thursday on the dismantling of a clandestine factory dedicated to the production and marketing of adulterated alcoholic beverages in the Barrera municipal district, Azua province, as a result of coordinated actions to combat illicit trade and protect the health of the population.
The operation was carried out by the Specialized Body for Control of Fuels and Trade of Goods (Ceccom), after information channeled by the Ministry of the Interior and Police through the Directorate of Citizen Complaints, which allowed the identification of the place where this structure operated illegally.
During the intervention, 106 tanks with a capacity of 55 gallons were found, which contained approximately 25,440 liters of a substance in the process of fermentation, presumably cleren or triculí. Due to the conditions of difficult access to the place, the authorities proceeded to destroy the liquid and render the containers useless, to prevent the product from being distributed or marketed.
The Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, stated that these actions reflect the Government's commitment to protecting the life, health and safety of citizens.
Likewise, he recalled that these practices violate the General Health Law No. 42-01 and Law No. 17-19 on the Eradication of Illicit Trade, Smuggling and Counterfeiting of Regulated Products, so the competent institutions will continue to develop intelligence, inspection and intervention operations throughout the national territory.
The Ministry of the Interior and Police urged the population to report any activity that represents a risk to collective health and safety.

Debido a las condiciones de difícil acceso al lugar, las autoridades procedieron a destruir el líquido e inutilizar los recipientes, para impedir que el producto fuera distribuido o comercializado. La ministra de Interior y Policía,Faride Raful,afirmó que estas acciones reflejan elcompromiso del Gobierno con la protección de la vida, la salud y la seguridad de los ciudadanos.
