International condemnation of terrorist bombing of Damascus café

Capitals, July 3 (SANA)Bahrain, South Korea, Japan and the International Commission for the Protection of Civilians (I.C.P.C.) condemned on Friday the terrorist bombing that targeted a café near the Palace of Justice in the al-Hijaz district of the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Thursday.Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the terrorist attack, which killed 10 civilians and injured 20 others.In a statement carried by theBahrainNews Agency, the Foreign Ministry said the Kingdom stands in full solidarity with Syria and supports efforts to strengthen security, stability and development, while preserving Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity. It reiterated Bahrain’s rejection of all forms of terrorism and violence targeting civilians.South Korea’s embassy in Damascus expressed “deep concern” over the terrorist bombing, extending condolences to the victims’ families and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. It also reaffirmed solidarity with Syria and its people in a statement posted on X.Japanalso condemned the attack. The Japanese embassy in Syria said in a post on X that it “strongly condemns” the explosion caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) inside a café in al-Hijaz, which resulted in casualties and injuries. It extended condolences to the victims’ families and wished the injured a swift recovery.TheInternational Commission for the Protection of Civilians (I.C.P.C.)also condemned the terrorist attack, expressing full solidarity with Syria and supporting legal measures taken by relevant authorities to protect civilians and maintain public order.In a statement, the commission said attacks on civilians and public spaces constitute terrorism under international legal and humanitarian frameworks and can never be justified. It called for accountability for those responsible, including entities that finance or support such acts, and urged stronger international cooperation to disrupt sources of terrorist funding.

The bombing, which targeted a café near the Palace of Justice in Damascus on Thursday, killed ten people and injured 21 others, prompting widespread Arab and international condemnation.
