The parties addressed the current state of cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia, opportunities for its expansion, and specific steps to implement joint cultural initiatives.
During the talks, the sides considered expanding cooperation in cinematography and strengthening ties in the theater sector. Proposals were also put forward to organize joint concert programs that incorporate elements of Uzbek national maqom and Georgian national music.
Maka Gurgenidze emphasized that the rich cultural heritage, shared values, and historical and cultural affinity of the Uzbek and Georgian peoples provide a solid foundation for strengthening cultural ties between the two countries. She also noted the significant potential to implement new joint cultural initiatives and creative projects.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to sign a cultural cooperation program for 2026-2030, reaffirming their mutual interest in strengthening and expanding cultural interaction.
Ozodbek Nazarbekov also became familiar with the activities of the Erisioni Georgian State National Singing and Dancing Academic Ensemble. The ensemble’s creative potential and its contributions to preserving and promoting the national cultural heritage were presented.
