Muslim World League condemns Damascus terrorist bombing, stresses solidarity with Syria

Riyadh, July 3 (SANA)The Muslim World League condemned theterrorist bombingthat targeted a café near the Palace of Justice inDamascus, reaffirming its solidarity withSyriain the face of threats to its security and stability.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the League’s Secretary-General,Mohammed bin Abdulkarim al-Issa,reiterated the organization’s rejection of violence and terrorism in all their forms and under any pretext.

Al-Issa expressed solidarity with Syria against any threats to its security, stability and the safety of its people. He also extended his condolences to the families of the victims and the Syrian people, wishing those injured a speedy recovery.

Earlier,Syria’s Interior Ministrysaid the blast killed nine civilians and injured 20 others, causing significant material damage. Preliminary investigations found that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device weighing about one kilogram and packed with metal fragments, resulting in severe casualties and extensive damage at the scene.
