Oman, Iraqi Kurdistan leader condemn Damascus café bombing, voice solidarity
Muscat / Erbil, July 3 (SANA)The Sultanate ofOmanand the President of Iraq’sKurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, have condemned the bombing that targeted a café nearthe Palace of Justicein the Syrian capital,Damascus, expressing solidarity with Syria and extending condolences to the victims’ families.
The Omani Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and extended condolences to the Syrian government and people, as well as to the families of the victims, while wishing a speedy recovery for those injured. It reaffirmed Oman’s firm position in rejecting all forms of violence and terrorism, regardless of their motives or justifications.
In a separate statement, Barzani strongly condemned the attack, which targetedciviliansin Damascus. In a post on X, he affirmed the Kurdistan Region’s full solidarity with Syria, its government and people, and support for efforts to strengthen security and stability and protect citizens.
He also extended condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for those injured.The bombing, which occurred on Thursday, killed nine civilians and injured others. It drew widespread Arab and international condemnation and renewed expressions of solidarity with Syria.
TheSyrian Foreign Ministrysaid the attack would not deter its efforts to protect civilians and maintain security and stability across the country.
