Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Chairs a Meeting of Security and Oversight Agencies …… Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired a meeting attended by the leadership of Iraq’s security and oversight agencies. The meeting reviewed the overall security and economic situation, discussed the government’s anti-corruption measures, and examined mechanisms for strengthening coordination among the relevant institutions to ensure the highest standards in protecting public funds and enforcing the law. The Prime Minister affirmed that the government is moving forward with implementing its reform program, in line with the objectives of the ministerial program to combat and prevent corruption. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to pursuing corrupt individuals and bringing them to justice. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi directed the coordination of efforts among oversight bodies and law enforcement agencies to track down and apprehend those responsible for corruption crimes, recover public funds, and strengthen preventive measures, thereby enhancing institutional coordination and effectiveness. He stressed that these efforts must encompass all government sectors without exception. The Prime Minister also emphasized the need to intensify efforts to combat the scourge of narcotics, underscoring the importance of effective measures to protect society, prevent their spread, and promote security and stability. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi stressed that combating corruption is a shared national responsibility requiring close coordination among the security, oversight, and judicial institutions, while adhering to the highest standards of integrity and transparency in the performance of their duties. He directed the intensification of intelligence and oversight efforts to dismantle corruption and economic crime networks, monitor the implementation of relevant government decisions, expedite investigations into cases involving the misappropriation of public funds, and ensure that the law is applied equally to all without discrimination.
